MEDITATION Rev. R. M. Peluso has been practicing eastern and western meditation for over thirty years. She has led guided meditations, including her Chocolate Tasting Meditations (CM) ™, for The Community of Peace and Spirituality, The New Seminary, both in New York City, and for chocolate trade shows, such as The Chocolate Salon in San Francisco. Reasons to practice meditation include well-documented health benefits; stress reduction; spiritual development; to achieve greater focus, clarity and presence; to recognize and release counterproductive thought patterns and reactive, habitual behaviors; and to increase creativity. Honoring all faiths. While Hindu and Buddhist meditation are most frequently taught, less widely known by practitioners of Christianity, Judaism and Islam is that they too have their own forms of meditation. Rev. Peluso’s Interfaith ordination means she honors all faith traditions and will design meditation or refer students for instruction that is appropriate to the individual's spiritual path, beliefs and values. Rev. Peluso has developed techniques to jump-start and facilitate progress in meditation. Private and group instruction can be arranged. Alternative and Applied Meditation Why alternative? Think you are unable to meditate or that meditation is too foreign or esoteric? Rev. Peluso has designed techniques to bridge the gap for you. Everyday activities, activities you already do, can be used to teach meditation. For now, leave your cushion at home! Why applied? Meditators often experience a disconnection between on-the-cushion practice and in-the- world applications of meditation. Do you find peace during meditation but remain reactive when interacting with people? Do you remain at the mercy of habitual patterns. Reverend Peluso offers problem-solving and guidance to individuals experiencing this lack of real-world application, and she will work with yoga and meditation teachers to enhance their effectiveness. Chocolate Tasting Meditation CM (tm) All forms of meditation use sensory modalities, from auditory (mantra/chant) to visual (visualization) to tactile-kinesthetic (breath/movement). Rev. Peluso uses taste and smell in addition. Many who think themselves unable to do traditional meditation nevertheless love chocolate. M-m-m! Can chocolate be your salvation? Rev. Peluso thinks so...if properly guided. CM™ can deliver many of the benefits of traditional meditation in a more accessible way. CM ™ can also help people move to more traditional forms, if that is a goal for the practitioner. Rev. Peluso is uniquely qualified to lead Chocolate Tasting Meditations—she is an accomplished “nose” (taster) and reviewer. Can Chocolate Tasting Meditation (CM)™ help you overcome compulsive, over-eating patterns to facilitate weight reduction? Yes! Sponsor A Retreat! Rev. Peluso can lead workshops in meditation and her Chocolate Tasting Meditations CM™ for your group. To learn more, contact us at 212-724-4880 or write to Rev. Peluso at artoftheceremony@aol.com |
